Support Your Community

Whether you choose to give now or in the future, there are many ways to contribute and make a difference in your community.

Every donation is carefully invested, growing over time to provide a reliable, long-term source of funding. The income generated from these investments is then distributed twice a year to support local people, projects, and organisations across the Māniatoto.

Give Today

This could be by making a donation or through regular giving through automatic payments to create a reliable source of income that strengthens the future of the Maniototo.

By donating to the Community Trust of Maniototo, you will receive a tax receipt allowing you to claim 33% of your donation as a tax rebate. For example:

$30 donation = $10 tax rebate
$300 donation = $100 tax rebate
$3,000 donation = $1,000 tax rebate

Trust/Society Transfer

When charitable trusts and incorporated societies wind up, there is often the challenge of what happens with the remaining funds. One option is to transfer these funds so they continue to support

"public recreation, enjoyment, health, education, instruction, culture, or general benefit to the inhabitants of the [Maniototo] district."

Please contact our trust chair, Janyne Fletcher, should this be an option that your organisation might wish to explore.

Bequests

Leaving a gift in your will is a simple and meaningful way to give back to your community for generations to come. Your bequest is invested to grow the fund and increase its long-term impact.

By choosing to give through the Community Trust of Maniototo, you can be confident your gift will continue to benefit the community for years to come.

Maniototo Televiewers Society

$6,092.96 following the wind up of this organisation in 1987

Maniototo County Council

$50,000 to recognise the end of the era of 111 years of the Maniototo County Council in 1989

Maniototo 1990 Community Committee $12,000 proceeds from events to celebrate the completion of the Maniototo Irrigation Scheme.

Community Book Club $228.04 generously donated in 1996

Ranfurly Search and Rescue

$368 following the amalgamation of the local branch into the national organisation

Maniototo Girl Guide Association

Generous donation of $2,800 in 2004

AJ Mayne Trust

$9,309.37 honouring Jim Mayne’s wish to support sport in the Maniototo for generations to come in 2018

Sale of the Ranfurly Lion Hotel to Lessee Dave Weyer

This resulted in an income to the trust of approx. $100,000
